This August Bank Holiday weekend – from Friday 22nd to Monday 25th – the charming town of Bridgnorth bursts into life with the Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival. Just 45 minutes from Orleton Rise Holiday Park, it’s a town-wide celebration of creativity, rhythm, and community spirit.
Established in 2006 (but with a brief Covid hiatus), this year marks the 17th annual event. For almost two decades, the festival has championed grassroot talent across music, poetry, and visual arts, showcasing everything from indie rock to folk, pop, and spoken word.
Expect electric performances and hands-on experiences across 14 vibrant venues, including the Castle Gardens Stage, High Street Stage, Quayside Stage, local pubs, cafes, the library, and the stunning St. Leonard’s Church.
The festival isn’t just about watching – it’s about joining in. Unleash your inner rhythm at interactive drumming workshops, enjoy a spirited singalong with a local ukulele band, or take centre stage at the open mic night. Plus, enjoy performances by the Live Poets Society and test your knowledge at the pub quiz in the park.
Art lovers, don’t miss the Bridgnorth & District Arts Society Annual Exhibition across the weekend. This year’s theme is ‘music’, with stunning original prints, cards, and 3D sculptures on display.
The whole event is 100% volunteer-run and proudly sponsored by local businesses, making it a true labour of love for the community. And yes, dogs are welcome too, so bring your four-legged friends along for the fun.
