Imagine taking a leisurely stroll through the rolling hills of Shropshire, sampling incredible local food and drink at each stop along the way. That’s what Ludlow Magnalonga is all about!
On Sunday 10th August, join this fun and tasty 7-8 mile walk through the countryside, and enjoy a range of delicious offerings from local artisans. It’s a fantastic way to experience the region’s natural beauty while indulging in the best food and drink that Ludlow has to offer.
And the best part? It’s a mere 15-minute drive from Orleton Rise Holiday Park!
Now in its 22nd year, the Ludlow Magnalonga is a truly unique experience that combines a leisurely walk through the stunning Shropshire landscape with the joy of tasting artisan food and drinks. As you stroll along a carefully planned and waymarked route, you’ll be treated to a tantalising menu from local producers.
Your journey begins with a light bite and refreshing drink. From there, enjoy a hot dish and a locally brewed beverage at the second stop, followed by a sweet dessert and cocktail at the third. The final leg of your journey brings you to a cheese course and a final drink, with plenty of hydration along the way via locally bottled spring water and refill stops.
It’s not a race – take your time, enjoy the views, and savour every bite!
The route takes you across footpaths, woodland trails, and quiet country tracks, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. While the terrain may include stiles, hills, and rugged tracks, the effort is well worth it with rewards of the unforgettable flavours of Shropshire.
Due to the route, sturdy footwear is a must! And while dogs are welcome to join the fun, some larger breeds might find it tricky.
Inspired by Ludlow’s twin town of San Pietro in Cariano, Italy, renowned for its winemaking heritage, this event celebrates local food, drink, culture, and the joy of the great outdoors.
It’s organised by Ludlow Marches Food & Drink, which is celebrating its 30th year and also hosts the much-loved Spring Festival in May and The Festival in September.
Located just eight miles from Orleton Rise Holiday Park, this event offers the perfect way to enjoy a delicious day out while staying at our peaceful rural retreat. After your walk, return to the tranquillity of the park to relax and unwind.
Tickets for the event will be available towards the end of June 2025 – make sure to grab yours and secure your stay!
