The market also boasts a fantastic selection of beverages, including local ciders, apple juices, and gin. There’s no shortage of local deliciousness to tickle your tastebuds, ready to totally enhance your trip.

And it’s more than just a place to shop; it’s a celebration of Ludlow’s rich agricultural heritage and commitment to supporting local producers. Boasting a variety of hot food stalls, cafes, and seasoned vendors, it’s a vibrant gathering where the community comes together to enjoy the fruits of their labour, and where you can meet the farmers and makers behind the products.

A hallmark of the market is its ‘Local to Ludlow’ motto, which signifies that all products sold are sourced within 30 miles of the town. Plus, eager to further enhance sustainable living, they sell compostable jute bags and encourage less plastic packaging.

A Flavourful History

Ludlow’s Local Produce Market is one of the longest-standing farmers markets in England. Launched in 2000, it followed in the footsteps of Bath’s market, the first in the country.

Over the years, it’s significantly grown – from a once-a-month event to a thriving market held fortnightly. And it’s overcome countless challenges, including extreme weather conditions and the global pandemic, yet it continues to thrive.

25 Years

The market is approaching its 25th year this July, a testament to the resilience and passion of Ludlow’s food community. So, it’s an ideal time to visit and explore the rich flavours of the region.
