Ludlow Food Festival – Tastes and Traditions Unveiled

Ludlow Food Festival is the recipe for a perfect September stay at Orleton Rise Holiday Park.

Now in its third decade, Ludlow Food Festival returns from 12th – 15th September, transforming the medieval market town into a foodie’s fairytale, with sizzling pans, smoky fire pits, and a whole lot of flavour!

Feast Your Way Through Ludlow

Held within the stunning grounds of Ludlow Castle (SY8 1AY), this event is a sensory banquet.

Picture it: delicious aromas wafting from the Live Fire Stage, while chefs like Stuart Collins and snack-hacking sensation George Egg flip, flame, and finesse their way through jaw-dropping demos.

And if you’re feeling hands-on and fancy the inside scoop, head over to the talks and workshops to indulge your curiosity (and your taste buds). Expect juicy tales, inspiring ideas, and the odd secret ingredient or two.

Or sip and savour your way to artisan heaven at the Slow Food Garden (complete with a bar), consisting of 16 businesses showcasing the best of local produce.

Not Just for Grown Ups

This isn’t a ‘look but don’t touch’ affair – there’s plenty for little foodies too. The festival is packed with free children’s activities, so the kids can play while you sample your way through Ludlow’s finest chutneys, cheeses, and charcuterie.

Win: win.

Turn Up the Heat: British Live Fire Cooking Championships

Returning for the second year (and hotter than ever), the British Live Fire Cooking Championships take centre stage. Watch three fearless chefs battle flames, smoke, and each other to be crowned the winner and gain entry to the World Food Championships in the USA.

Serving Up the Details

Tickets can be purchased at the gate, but advance savings are now available online. Day, multi-day, evening, and family options are all available – from £14.00 for adults and £5.00 for children (aged 5-13), under 5s enter for free.

There are a number of local car parks around the town, along with a Park & Ride service running on Friday and Saturday.

Well-behaved dogs are allowed in the Castle grounds, but not under marquee cover or anywhere where food preparation is taking place.
