Music lovers, prepare to hit all the right notes this November as the Ludlow Piano Festival returns with its annual Pop-up Piano event – a joyful celebration of world-class music, open pianos, and big screen magic that will warm up even the chilliest of autumn days.
From Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th November, expect grand performances, community spirit, and a few surprise keys up the sleeve.
Step into the passionate world of composer Claude Debassy with ‘Rêverie – The Life and Loves of Debussy’, a spellbinding performance of music and spoken word.
Ahead of a performance at London’s prestigious Wigmore Hall, pianist Lucy Parham and acclaimed actor Sir Simon Russell Beale bring Debussy’s music (and scandalous love affairs) vividly to life.
Friday evening is reserved for pure film magic.
Pianist Katherine Rockhill performs iconic tracks from Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Frozen, and more.
Whether you’re a hidden prodigy or a casual tinkler, you’re invited to Open Piano – your chance to make music in one of Ludlow’s most beautiful venues. Or if you prefer to sit back and enjoy the whimsical sounds and melodies, you’re just as welcome.
From 1.30pm on Friday, the Boogie-Woogie Sue (as seen on Channel 4’s The Piano) will take centre stage with her signature toe-tapping flair. And on Sunday, Ludlow’s own YouTube sensation, Luke Faulkner, will be concluding the event from 4.30pm.
