If you’re passionate about the planet, curious about sustainable living, or simply enjoy a great community event, the Ludlow Green Festival is not to be missed.
Returning on Sunday 13th June from 10am – 4pm at Castle Square, this year’s theme is ‘Food for Thought’ – a timely and inspiring look at how our food choices impact the world around us. Especially important in our rural communities, promoting the value of local farming and produce.
Just a 15-minute drive from Orleton Rise, the festival promises a lively and informative day packed with music, family-friendly activities, and educational opportunities – all set in the heart of the historic market town, Ludlow.
Organised by Ludlow 21, a dedicated local volunteer group promoting sustainable living since 1998, the festival explores practical ideas and thoughtful discussions around the environment.
This year, the event focuses on:
You’ll also find stalls offering organic and regenerative farming tips, advice on building food-resilient communities, and insights into how energy and transport play a role in our food chains – both locally and globally.
And it’s not just for the green-fingered! There’s face painting for the kids, live music throughout the day, and a wide variety of stalls showcasing sustainable goods and produce from across the county.
In the spirit of sustainability, walking or cycling to Ludlow is preferred. But for those a little further afield, organisers encourage car sharing via the dedicated page on GoCarShare, and to park at Ludlow Eco Park (SY8 1ES) to help reduce town centre congestion. From there, it’s a leisurely 1.2 mile walk to Castle Square.
When you’re planning your perfect escape at Orleton Rise this summer, why not consider how you can enhance your sustainability credentials, and visit Ludlow Green Festival for more tips and tricks.
